I stayed up so late after helping Jo make her blog that the next night that I fell asleep before 11pm the next night... Here is the first list of words from her blog of words that she wants me to learn:

shimeru (しめる、閉める) - close
akeru (あける、開ける) - open (door)
hiraku (ひらく、開く) - open, unfold, throw (party)
kazoeru (かぞえる、数える) - count
nonbiri shita (のんびりした) - carefree, laidback

Here's my own list of words for the past two days:

tairiku (たいりく、大陸) - continent, major land mass
sumi (すみ、炭) - charcoal (for barbecue)
tashika (たしか、確か) - certain, sure
tekiyou dekiru (てきようできる、適用出来る) - applicable
nasu (なす) - eggplant
sara (さら、皿) - plate
